May 06, 2020· Never welded before but, I just bought a hobart handler 140 mig welder to weld up on my 1991 dodge ram w150. Problem is there are so many choices of wire sizes and brands to choose from! I want the absolute best wire out there for body panels. I''ve heard I need .023" wire solid core. But then I hear Lincoln ER70S-6 ( L-56 ) wire is the best.

Welding cable is thermoset (as opposed to thermoplastic) to better resist weld splatter. The cable is typically rated 600 volts but can also be rated 100 volts. Welding cable is known for its flexibility and durability, and many automatic and manual welding appliions require the cable to hold up to repeated movement over rough surfaces.

Electrodes or Filler Wire Electrodes, or filler wire, come in rod form typically 36 inches long. This filler wire comes in a variety of sizes that are typically: 1/16; 3/32; 1/8; The electrode size has little to do with the thickness of the metal that will be welded if what you’re talking about is TIG welding.
The final weight of the wheel that is welding wire wrapped around it is 800-1000 kgr. Finally, in the final part of the production, the welding wire produced in the second step that is coiled on the wheel , will payoff and the machine will take it up to 15-20 kgr spool as a final product.

Wire gauge calculations Wire diameter calculations. The n gauge wire diameter d n in inches (in) is equal to 0.005in times 92 raised to the power of 36 minus gauge nuer n, divided by 39:. d n (in) = 0.005 in × 92 (36-n)/39. The n gauge wire diameter d n in millimeters (mm) is equal to 0.127mm times 92 raised to the power of 36 minus gauge nuer n, divided by 39:
Aug 10, 2017· As the wire melts it burns the flux creating a gas cloud around the arc to shield the arc. It creates a lot more splatter and heat and I do not recommend use flux-core for welding sheet metal. Flux-core wire is available in sizes to fit most hobby welders, so select a wire size that is compatible with your welder and the material you intend to
